Focused on delivery, the role’s primary responsibility will be to process and manage localisation projects from the point of submission through to final output. Managing multiple projects/ deliverables and languages, while at the same time not being afraid to push back and set realistic deadlines.

There may not be a typical day. One day you may be processing translations for an upcoming product launch, or discussing how best to proceed with external copywriters and the next day conducting a deep dive into translation memory files or collaborating with the UX Design partners to build automation into the process. But what is consistent is always having your charter’s goals and progress top of mind, driving projects at pace, ensuring outcomes are aligned to original briefs and ahead of deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Process localisation requests from initial submission through to delivery, meeting deadlines with best-in-class translations.
  • Manage localization projects end-to-end, working closely with language specialists, internal business partners, external vendors and other departments.
  • Manage the team of copywriters, whilst being the point of contact for DS2 Localization team.
  • Maintain and govern supportive documentation, such as briefing templates, translation memory files, the Ring glossary, and product guidelines.
  • Look around corners to mitigate risks, flagging potential challenges and issues for stakeholders to face into.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resolve questions or conflicts related to terminology, language quality and workflow.
  • Evaluate current processes and work with the engineering team to develop tooling to automate and streamline activities.
  • Support the Translation Program Managers to develop customer-based project plans and workflows; manage time, budget, resources and quality control.
  • Responsible for external vendor productivity, overseeing contracts, onboarding, training and financial auditing.
  • Oversee optimization of LQA with external and internal reviewers
  • Support to review and maintain localization process document

Qualifications

  • Min. 2 years of experience in a similar position
  • Strong project management skills
  • Extensive experience of translation and transcreation – product localisation & content in web, packaging, app
  • Experience in a brand’s packaging terms & glossary
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Organized with an eye for detail (since many times the copy is incorrect or outdated)
  • Excellent command in English (verbal & written) – An additional EU language is a very strong plus
