You will be instrumental in replacing a keyword-driven system with an intelligent solution that understands intent, personalizes results, and scales globally. Working within an agile Scrum framework, you will autonomously drive technical solutions and contribute significantly to a project that is critical to the company’s digital transformation.

**Primary Responsibilities:**
* Lead the technical consultation, configuration, and optimization of search relevance components, including analyzers, scoring parameters, hybrid retrieval structures, and vector-search integrations.
* Design and refine retrieval and ranking models, implementing multi-stage ranking approaches, learning-to-rank concepts, and integrating relevance, behavioral, and business signals into ranking pipelines.
* Develop multilingual Natural Language Processing (NLP) components for diverse locales (LAM, EU, NAM), covering tokenization, stemming, normalization, and configuring linguistic processing within search platforms and related pipelines.
* Engineer query understanding mechanisms, including synonym and concept extraction from catalog and interaction data, query-intent interpretation, and term/concept expansion techniques.
* Develop and integrate Large Language Model (LLM)-enhanced search components, focusing on prompt construction and incorporating LLM-derived semantic signals into retrieval and ranking logic.
* Create sophisticated personalization logic for search and product listing page (PLP) ranking, designing re-ranking frameworks that balance user affinity, semantic relevance, and commercial parameters.
* Develop and validate robust autocomplete, spelling-correction, and search-suggestion components, ensuring multilingual handling and adherence to domain-specific terminology.
* Define and refine commercial relevance models, including recency-weighted popularity signals, interaction-derived relevance indicators, and other business-driven ranking adjustments.
* Construct comprehensive evaluation and diagnostic frameworks for relevance quality, utilizing offline Information Retrieval (IR) metrics and analytical methods for assessment.
* Model and integrate real-time or near-real-time data signals, such as size availability or stock levels, into filtering, faceting, and ranking components.
* Provide technical implementation of data-science-driven backend logic for the user interface, including scoring routines, rule-evaluation structures, configurable business logic, and interfaces for merchandise-related adjustments to search and ranking behavior.
* Actively participate in agile meetings (2-3 times per week) to clarify technical matters and maintain transparency.
* Conduct independent assessments and propose feasible services for each sprint, contributing your professional judgment and domain expertise.

**Required Skills & Experience:**
* Proven expertise in search relevance engineering, including OpenSearch (or similar) configuration and optimization (analyzers, scoring, hybrid retrieval, vector-search).
* Strong background in developing and refining retrieval and ranking models, including multi-stage ranking, learning-to-rank, and signal integration.
* Extensive experience with multilingual NLP components (tokenization, stemming, normalization, linguistic processing).
* Proficiency in designing and implementing query understanding mechanisms (synonym/concept extraction, intent interpretation, term/concept expansion).
* Demonstrated experience with LLM-enhanced search components, prompt engineering, and integrating LLM-derived semantic signals.
* Ability to create personalization logic for search and ranking, balancing user affinity, semantic relevance, and commercial parameters.
* Expertise in developing and validating autocomplete, spelling-correction, and search-suggestion components for multilingual and domain-specific contexts.
* Experience in defining and refining commercial relevance models (popularity signals, interaction-derived indicators, business-driven adjustments).
* Capability to construct evaluation and diagnostic frameworks for relevance quality using IR metrics.
* Skilled in modeling and integrating real-time data signals (e.g., stock levels) into search components.
* Technical implementation experience with data-science-driven backend logic for user interfaces, including scoring, rule evaluation, and configurable business logic.
* Experience working within an agile development framework (SCRUM).
* Strong professional judgment and domain expertise to independently assess and propose solutions.
