Aquent is looking for a Freelance Backend Python Developer (M/F) for one of our major clients. The client is a world-famous brand and a leader in the sports equipment and lifestyle industry.
This assigment is based near Nuremberg, Germany. The setup is hybrid: 50% on-site / 50% remote.
You will join the team working on an innovative internal technology project focused on digital transformation. The main goal of this project is to research, prototype, and build internal tools for 3D product design by integrating Generative AI solutions.
Principal Missions:
You will independently build and maintain the backend software that makes these AI models work smoothly:
- API Engineering & Maintenance : Your main job is to maintain, improve, and add new features to the REST API (built with FastAPI and Ray Serve). This API connects the AI models to the web application used by the designers.
- Data Preparation : You will occasionally help prepare and process datasets (like images, segmentation masks, and 3D files/textures) to help train or validate the models.
- Environment & Cloud Management: You will configure Python environments and run model inference using the PyTorch framework. You will also deploy and run these backend services on the AWS cloud infrastructure (S3, EC2).
Your Profile:
For this role, the client is looking for a real Software Engineer focused on backend development.
- Experience: You have a solid education in Computer Science (or a similar field) and at least 5 years of professional experience in backend software development.
- Required Technical Skills:
-
Strong knowledge of Python and clean software architecture.
- Good experience building and maintaining REST APIs.
- Practical experience with AWS services (especially EC2 and S3).
- Good knowledge of SQL databases.
-
- Nice-to-Have Skills (The “Plus”):
- Basic knowledge of Computer Vision or Computer Graphics (understanding how digital images, 3D meshes, and textures work).
- Familiarity with PyTorch for running model inference.
