Aquent is recruiting for an experienced Graphic Designer (mid-weight) to join an incredible, long established institution, in an inclusive, vibrant and friendly environment. Located in Wimbledon, they are seeking a Graphic Designer to join them 5 days a week on site, allowing you to become an integral part of the Communication, Design and Marketing team. This role is an FTC to start in January, until September 2025. 

The role involves acting as a Senior Design Consultant for the corporation, and providing oversight of the brand across International and the various companies within the corporation. You will work closely supporting the Director of Communications and colleagues in the Marcomms team to produce collateral and assets to a consistently high standard.

Objectives and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Working closely with colleagues in the Admissions department to support them with suitable admissions materials.

  • Planning and managing the timelines and delivery of multiple projects across each term across multiple platforms, digital and print (ensuring consistency and integration wherever possible)

  • Advising on the most effective designs and producing content that best delivers the objective for that brief (brochures, programmes, flyers, magazine, large format graphics, displays, signage, social media posts, website pages, infographics etc)

  • Overseeing the design work done undertaken by the Content Creator from conception to delivery

  • Providing art direction for photoshoots

  • Undertaking photo editing and retouching when required

  • Liaising directly with stakeholders (colleagues and suppliers) to ensure briefing is clear and expectations feasible and managed effectively

  • Ensuring the current brand guidelines are adopted and used effectively across the school by colleagues, pupils and parents

  • Maintain good working relationships with suppliers

  • Overseeing the work of other designers (internal and external) as required to ensure consistency of brand and quality delivery

  • Supporting colleagues and stakeholders with technical advice and support and developing good working relationships with colleagues throughout the school and Corporation

Skills and Person Specification:

  • Proficient in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop

  • Knowledge of the printing process, paper stocks and finishes

  • Extensive knowledge of graphic design, design styles, techniques and applications

  • Extensive knowledge of typography principles and rules

  • Have a desire to work with children and be fully immersed in the life of a busy school

  • Have a warm, personable and professional manner with an excellent work ethic

  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail

  • Be a confident, assured communicator, both in written and verbal forms, able to relate well to people on all levels with sensitivity, tact and diplomacy

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service experience and promotional skills and an ability to read and understand the requirements of parents in the independent sector and market trends

  • Have first class organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure, work to tight deadlines and be systematic in an approach to tasks

  • Have a proactive approach to planning and prioritising work, with the ability to use initiative appropriately

  • Be a person of integrity, honesty, energy, stamina and enthusiasm, able to maintain a high work rate and to juggle a range of tasks and competing priorities

  • Be flexible and able to work as part of a team and have the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues at all levels
