About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the infrastructure and tooling behind an immersive virtual reality platform. This role is part of a distributed team focused on enhancing build systems, improving test reliability, and maintaining mission-critical internal development tools.

As part of a high-impact infrastructure team, you will work closely with engineers across the UK and US to ensure the ongoing stability and performance of core developer applications. You’ll help identify and resolve issues, contribute to feature enhancements, and provide technical ownership over essential tools used daily by hundreds of developers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve build and deployment issues across the internal platform.
  • Maintain, extend, and own the .NET/C#-based Horizon developer tool, critical to engineering workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineers to identify bugs and areas of improvement, ensuring high availability and responsiveness of systems.
  • Write and maintain high-quality, testable code in C#, Python, JavaScript, or C++.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of enhancements to developer tooling and build infrastructure.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver reliable developer experiences and improve operational efficiency.

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Strong software engineering experience, with a focus on C#, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
  • Proven experience working in large-scale tech environments.
  • Expertise in build systems (e.g. Bazel, Buck, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of software reliability and support workflows.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Unity or development for VR/AR environments.
  • Experience using .NET tooling and Visual Studio Code.
  • Understanding of full-stack development and backend integrations.
  • Prior experience in a support engineering or infrastructure-focused role is highly valued.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on stability and efficiency.
  • Comfortable communicating with cross-regional stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Experience working in or with leading global tech organisations.
