Are you passionate about building robust data products and enabling modern data architecture? We’re seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support our client’s customer domain team in delivering high-quality data solutions as part of a shift towards a data mesh framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and modelling.

  • Implement data quality checks and ensure secure, managed access to data products.

  • Support and enhance our data mesh architecture, including data contracts and schemas.

  • Collaborate closely with data engineers and stewards across distributed teams in Amsterdam and Sweden.

  • Champion best practices in CI/CD, DataOps, and cloud-native development.

  • Engage with key stakeholders across software engineering and product teams to align on technical and strategic objectives.

  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and tech stack optimisation for scalability and security.

Key Technologies & Skills Required:

  • Data Mesh & Data Products: Hands-on experience in design and implementation, including governance, contracts, and access management.

  • BigQuery: Deep expertise, ideally with experience using Analytics Hub.

  • GCP Tools: Including Cloud Run (Jobs), Workflows; Dataflow is a strong advantage.

  • dbt: For data modelling and transformation workflows.

  • SQL: Advanced proficiency, particularly for performance optimisation.

  • CI/CD & DataOps: GitHub Actions, monitoring/observability, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of advocating for technical strategies and mentoring colleagues.

  • Experience in stakeholder management, especially working with software engineers and product owners.

Top 3 Requirements:

  1. Strong experience with data mesh principles and building data products

  2. Advanced expertise with BigQuery and related GCP services

  3. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
